Privacy Policy
This is the English-language privacy policy (Datenschutzerklärung) for firn-labs.com. We keep it short on purpose: this is a static site with no cookies, no analytics, and no tracking.
Last updated: June 2026
1. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
ITIFCO UG (haftungsbeschränkt)Wiflingshauser Straße 14
73732 Esslingen am Neckar
Germany
Email: privacy@itifco.com
Full provider details are in our Impressum.
2. Hosting and server log files
This website is self-hosted by us on our own server located in our own datacenter. When you visit the site, your browser necessarily transmits technical data to the server, which may be stored temporarily in server log files. This typically includes:
- your IP address (anonymised or shortened where possible),
- the date and time of the request,
- the page or file requested,
- the referring URL,
- your browser type and operating system.
This processing is necessary to deliver the website securely and reliably and to defend against attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the secure operation of the site under Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. Log files are stored only for as long as needed for these purposes and are then deleted. We do not pass this data to third parties.
3. Web fonts (Google Fonts)
To display text consistently, this site loads the typefaces Inter and JetBrains Mono from Google Fonts, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. When a page loads, your browser connects to Google's servers, which means your IP address is transmitted to Google. We have no influence over this transfer or how Google uses the data. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a consistent, attractive presentation of the site under Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. More information is available in Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
4. Cookies, analytics and tracking
We do not set any cookies, and we do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking services of any kind. We do not build user profiles. The site stores a single value in your browser's local storage — your light/dark theme preference (key firn-theme). This value never leaves your device, is not personal data, and is used purely to remember how you like the site to look. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
5. Contacting us
If you contact us by email, the data you send (your email address and the contents of your message) is processed solely to handle your enquiry and any follow-up. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in responding) or, where your message concerns a contract, Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR. We retain such correspondence only as long as needed to deal with your request and to meet any statutory retention obligations.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15),
- have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16),
- have your data erased (Art. 17),
- restrict processing (Art. 18),
- data portability (Art. 20),
- object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21).
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details above.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. In Germany, the competent authority is the data protection authority of the federal state in which our company is based.
7. Security and automated decisions
This site is served exclusively over an encrypted TLS (HTTPS) connection to protect data in transit. We do not carry out any automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes to the site or to legal requirements. The current version always applies, with the date of the last update shown at the top of this page.
