Celebrating v0.1.0 of Unkai Mail 🎉

We are happy to announce release v0.1.0 of Unkai Mail and what we're tackling next.

Nick

After some intense weeks of developing we have some news to celebrate: Unkai Mail v.0.1.0 is out!

In the last weeks we were at work to fix security issues and include patches of packages that we use in our first executable and installable build. This marks such a significant milestone for us, since we are now able to gather feedback from real users and not only devs that now how to package themeselves or how to setup the dev environment. We even feel like we have our SpaceX moment: The rocket lifts off for the first time without crashing, but it is just the beginning of a long journey 🚀.

What we’re tackling next

Improving the UI

Especially the UI is something we want to get more consistent throughout Unkai Mail. Currently we have just made some adjustements to ensure it looks at least similar throughout the features supported.

Improving existing features

We also want to step-up the realiability of our existing features with more robust error-handling and matching the results a user expects from the features. We already got some feedback from people we know about features that worked in our test but made problems under other circumstances. That also shows how important real world tests are and underlines our approach to release-when-not-ready.

Celebrating 🎉

Nothing for Unkai Mail itself but something for us and to ensure we keep up our idea-flow.

And last but not least the usual call to action: Go test our stuff, we need the feedback!

Hear, no, read? no, write! you in the next one. — Nick
